Tobin Scientific was selected by Bates College in Lewiston, ME, to manage the relocation of 12 labs, researchers, andteaching staff into the new Bonney Science Center. The project, which involved moving assets from multiple campus locations, with a primary focus on emptying the three-story Dana Chemistry Hall and relocating faculty from Carnegie Science Hall had a tight timeline and multiple complex move needs including sensitive lab equipment, tull classrooms, freezers, specimens, critical samples, and even a vivarium. This was far more than a typical move, requiring specialized equipment, planning, and execution uiniquely tailored to life sciences.Tobin’s team met weekly with Bates project leaders starting months ahead of the move to ensure a seamless transition.
Relocation of 12 fully operational complex labs, along with specimens, freezers, and research staff, across multiple campus buildings while maintaining safety, compliance, and continuity of ongoing research.
Tobin Scientific delivered a life-science-focused relocation by leveraging specialized equipment, experienced personnel, and detailed project planning. Weekly coordination with Bates project leaders ensured that labs, specimens, and staff were safely moved, minimizing disruption to research and teaching activities.
