Your Role

As the pioneer Software Engineer at Tobin Scientific, you'll lay the foundation for our tech stack and software capabilities. Your technical leadership will be instrumental as we strive to automate and advance our services. This role involves hands-on work in application architecture, backend, and front end development. You should be able to learn quickly, work hard, and deliver high-quality work that will be highly visible within our organization.

What We're Looking For

• B.S. in Computer Science from a reputable university or equivalent professional education and experience
• Knowledge of databases and data modeling, API integrations w/ third parties both as a provider and consumer, website development, cloud technologies, and more
• A strong work ethic and a desire to build top-notch systems and products
• A highly organized, results-driven self-starter with a positive attitude
• Open to working at our Beverly headquarters full time or flexibly

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own the engineering development process, including application and network architecture, backend, and front end development
• Build internal and external products balancing technical complexity with product feature requirements
• Collaborate with the different functional teams team to prioritize development tasks
• Oversee a multi-path failover network to ensure compliance, uptime, and data integrity for our nationwide trucking fleet and warehouses' internet and temperature monitoring
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, and implement them as appropriate
